Half Lord of the Fishes Pose
Spine, Obliques, GlutesBodyweight
Seated twist that improves spinal rotation and hip mobility, engaging the obliques while stretching the glutes.
How to do it
1Sit tall on the floor with your legs extended straight out.
2Bend your right knee, cross your right foot over your left thigh, and plant it flat on the floor.
3Bend your left knee and pull your left foot back near your right glute, keeping both sit bones grounded.
4Exhale, twist your torso to the right, hook your left elbow outside your right knee, and place your right hand behind you.
5Unwind to center and repeat on the other side.
Common mistakes
Slouching or rounding your spine while twisting, compressing the vertebrae.
Lifting your sit bone off the floor, distorting pelvic alignment.
Forcing the twist with your arms past your natural active range of motion.
Breathing
Inhale to lengthen your spine tall, exhale to gently deepen the twist.
