GHD Sit-Up

GHD Sit-Up

Abs, obliques, hip flexors, lower backGHD Machine

High-intensity GHD machine exercise for deep abdominal, hip flexor, and spinal erector engagement. Requires strong trunk strength and control.

How to do it

1Lock your feet securely between the GHD rollers and sit so your glutes hang off the edge of the pad.
2Hold your hands against your chest or extend them forward for balance.
3Lower your torso back smoothly, controlling the extension with your abs and back.
4Descend until your torso is parallel to the floor or slightly below, within a safe range.
5Flex your abs and hip flexors hard to drive back up to the starting seated position.

Common mistakes

Hyperextending your lower back at the bottom, dumping excessive stress into the spine.
Snapping up aggressively, increasing the risk of muscle strain.
Failing to lock your feet tight in the foot pads, losing control of the movement.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower your torso back. Exhale sharply as you drive back up.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
