Dumbbell Finger Curl
ForearmsDumbbell
Dumbbell finger curls isolate the deep finger flexors unilaterally to build individual hand strength and crush grip power.
How to do it
1Sit on a bench and rest your forearm on your thigh with your palm facing up.
2Relax your grip to let the dumbbell slowly roll down to your fingertips.
3Curl your fingers back inward to lift the dumbbell back into your palm.
4Squeeze tightly at full closure for a second.
5Complete your reps, then switch to the other arm.
Common mistakes
Dropping the dumbbell rapidly into fingertips, risking finger joint sprains.
Bending your wrist, which shifts tension off the fingers and onto the forearms.
Going too heavy, preventing full extension at the bottom.
Breathing
Inhale as you roll the dumbbell down your fingers; exhale as you curl it back up.
Make it harder or easier
Use a lighter dumbbell to make it easier; hold the weight on your fingertips for 2–3 seconds at the bottom to make it harder.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
