Dynamic Chest Stretch

Dynamic Chest Stretch

Chest, Front DeltsBodyweight

Standing dynamic chest and anterior shoulder stretch. Warms up the shoulder girdle and opens up the chest before your workout.

How to do it

1Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart and arms extended straight in front of your chest.
2Smoothly open your arms out to the sides and slightly back, squeezing your shoulder blades.
3Feel a gentle stretch across your chest and the front of your shoulders.
4Control your arms back to the starting position in front of you.
5Repeat in a smooth, continuous rhythm.

Common mistakes

Using momentum and swinging your arms forcefully instead of maintaining control.
Arching your lower back as your arms go back, dumping stress into your lumbar spine.
Shrugging your shoulders up to your ears, putting unnecessary tension in your upper traps.

Breathing

Inhale as you open your arms and expand your chest, exhale as you bring them back together.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
