Dumbbell Punches
Front delts, TricepsDumbbells
A dynamic standing exercise with light dumbbells to build shoulder and tricep endurance. Alternating forward punches strengthen the anterior deltoids and core stabilizers.
How to do it
1Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart, holding light dumbbells by your chin.
2Slightly bend your knees and brace your core for maximum stability.
3Punch one arm forward in a smooth motion, rotating your palm down at full extension.
4Return the hand back to your chin while punching forward with the opposite arm.
5Maintain a steady, controlled rhythm without snapping your elbows.
Common mistakes
Hard elbow lockouts, which place unnecessary stress on the joint.
Twisting or excessive swaying in the lower back, causing loss of control and injury risk.
Using weights that are too heavy, ruining form and overloading shoulder joints.
Breathing
Breathe rhythmically: exhale on every punch and inhale as you bring the hand back.
Make it harder or easier
To simplify, slow down the tempo and use minimal weight.
To progress, pick up the pace while maintaining crisp, sharp technique.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
