Converging Lat Pulldown Machine

Converging Lat Pulldown Machine

LatsLat Pulldown Machine

A converging lat pulldown machine targets your lats along a natural, anatomical path of motion. Great for building upper-body back strength and width.

How to do it

1Set the thigh pads so your legs are locked in with your feet flat on the floor.
2Reach up and grab the handles with a comfortable grip.
3Pull your shoulders down and drive the handles toward your upper chest, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
4Drive your elbows down and back along the natural path of the machine.
5Slowly raise the handles back up to get a full stretch in your lats.

Common mistakes

Leaning back too far and turning a vertical pull into a row.
Pulling through your arms and wrists instead of engaging your lats and shoulder blades.
Rounding your back and rolling your shoulders forward at the bottom.

Breathing

Exhale as you pull the handles down to your chest; inhale as you return to the top with control.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, lighten the weight. To make it harder, pull one arm at a time.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
