Cable Reverse Curl
Forearms, BrachialisCable Machine, Straight Bar
A low-cable exercise targeting the forearms and brachialis. An overhand grip shifts focus away from the biceps to the wrist extensors and brachioradialis.
How to do it
1Attach a straight bar to the bottom pulley and stand facing the machine.
2Grab the bar with an overhand, shoulder-width grip and let your arms hang straight.
3Glue your elbows to your ribs and keep your wrists straight and aligned with your forearms.
4Exhale and flex your elbows, pulling the bar toward your upper chest.
5Inhale and smoothly return the bar down, keeping constant tension on the cable.
Common mistakes
Flexing your wrists during the lift — overloads the wrist joints.
Engaging your shoulders or torso — reduces target isolation on the forearms.
Flaring your elbows out to the sides — ruins the proper line of pull.
Breathing
Exhale as you flex your elbows and pull the handle up. Inhale on the way down.
