Cable Pullover

Cable Pullover

Lats, ChestCable Machine

A standing cable move that hits your lats and chest while demanding solid core stability and shoulder control.

How to do it

1Stand facing the high pulley, grab the attachment, and step back to put tension on the cable.
2Hinge slightly forward at your hips, bend your knees, and lock a slight bend into your elbows.
3Pull the handle down in an arc toward your thighs using your back muscles.
4Slowly guide the handle back up to just above head level, keeping constant tension on the muscle.

Common mistakes

Bending and straightening your elbows, turning the move into a triceps exercise.
Arching your lower back aggressively as the weight rises, stressing your spine.
Jerking your body to move the weight, reducing work on the target muscles.

Breathing

Exhale as you pull the handle down to your thighs; inhale as it returns up.

Make it harder or easier

Lighten the load and avoid raising your hands too high to make it easier.
Hold the handle at your thighs and use a slow eccentric return to increase difficulty.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
