Cable Hip Adduction
Inner ThighsCable, Ankle Strap
An isolation exercise designed to target and strengthen the adductors on the inner thigh. Performed standing on one leg with a low cable, it builds balance and lower-body stability.
How to do it
1Attach the ankle cuff to the leg closest to the pulley and step out until you feel tension on the cable.
2Stand tall on your supporting leg, hold the machine for balance, and keep your chest up.
3Exhale and pull your working leg inward across the front of your body using your inner thigh.
4Squeeze your inner thigh at the fully crossed position for a full second.
5Inhale and slowly let the leg return back to the side, resisting the pull of the cable.
Common mistakes
Rotating your hips with the leg instead of keeping them square to the front.
Bending the working knee, which shortens the lever and takes tension off the adductors.
Letting the cable yank your leg back without controlling the return.
Breathing
Exhale as you pull your leg across your body. Inhale as you return the leg back toward the pulley.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, lower the weight to minimum and hold the frame with both hands. To scale up, add a pause at peak contraction.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
