Standing Cable Biceps Curl

Standing Cable Biceps Curl

BicepsCable, Rope Attachment

Standing rope cable curls isolate the biceps and forearms. The rope handle allows a natural wrist path while keeping constant cable tension throughout.

How to do it

1Attach a rope to the low pulley, grab it with a neutral grip, and take a step back.
2Stand upright with soft knees and pin your elbows to your sides.
3Curl your hands toward your shoulders, spreading the ends of the rope apart at the top.
4Lower the handle under control back to the starting position.

Common mistakes

Swinging your body, which shifts work from your biceps to your back and momentum.
Drifting your elbows forward or out, losing isolation on the target muscle.
Letting the cable snap back down without resisting on the way down.

Breathing

Exhale as you curl up, inhale as you lower under control.

Make it harder or easier

Drop the weight to make it easier, or hold the contraction for 1–2 seconds at the top to increase difficulty.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
