Broad Jump with Return

Quads, Glutes, HamstringsBodyweight

Combines explosive broad jumping with controlled backward recovery. Builds leg power, coordination, and joint absorption.

How to do it

1Stand tall, feet shoulder-width, then hinge hips back and swing arms behind you.
2Explode forward off both feet, driving with your arms.
3Land softly on both feet, bending knees to absorb momentum.
4Backpedal quickly with short steps back to the start.

Common mistakes

Landing on stiff, straight legs, transferring heavy impact into your joints and spine.
Letting your knees cave inward on takeoff or landing, placing stress on the joints.
Leaning too far forward on landing, causing you to lose balance.

Breathing

Inhale before takeoff and exhale dynamically as you jump. Reset your breath on the backpedal.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, shorten your jump distance and walk back.
To make it harder, return to start using short backward hops.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
