Bench Reverse Crunch
Abs, Lower AbsBench
Bench reverse crunches hit the lower abdominal region by curling the pelvis toward the chest from a lying position.
How to do it
1Lie flat on a bench and grip the top edge above your head to anchor your upper body.
2Bend your knees to 90 degrees and lift your feet slightly off the bench.
3Exhale and pull your knees toward your chest, curling your pelvis off the bench with your abs.
4Pause briefly at the top with your hips slightly lifted.
5Inhale and lower your hips back onto the bench under control without dropping your feet.
Common mistakes
Swinging your legs for momentum instead of curling your pelvis with your core.
Letting your hips slam down hard on the bench during the descent.
Straightening your legs too low and arching your lower back.
Breathing
Exhale as you curl your hips toward your chest, and inhale as you lower back down.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
