Bench-Supported Front and Back Leg Swings
Quads, Hamstrings, GlutesBench
Dynamic front-to-back leg swings for hip mobility and leg warm-up. Hand support on the bench ensures stability and smooth motion.
How to do it
1Stand sideways to the bench and rest your inside hand on it for support.
2Shift weight to your standing leg, keeping the knee soft but not deeply bent.
3Swing your working leg smoothly forward to a natural height.
4Without pausing, swing the same leg backward, feeling the hip flexors and glutes stretch.
Common mistakes
Excessive lower back arching as the leg goes back puts unnecessary strain on your spine.
Swinging your whole torso back and forth instead of isolating movement at the hip joint.
Locking out the standing knee ruins shock absorption and balance.
Breathing
Breathe naturally and rhythmically in tempo with your swings; do not hold your breath.
Make it harder or easier
To simplify, keep the swing range small. To challenge yourself, hold the peak position for half a second at both ends.
