Battle Rope Slams

Battle Rope Slams

Shoulders, Back, Triceps, Core, QuadsBattle ropes

Battle rope slams hit your shoulders, back, triceps, abs, and quads in an explosive effort. Driving the ropes overhead and slamming them down delivers high power output with low joint and spinal strain.

How to do it

1Grab the rope handles and stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart.
2Extend your legs and drive both arms overhead simultaneously.
3Slam the ropes down into the floor violently using your core and arms.
4Bend your knees and drop your hips slightly as you slam to absorb impact.

Common mistakes

Arching your lower back heavily when reaching overhead.
Throwing with only your arms instead of pulling down with your core.
Landing on stiff, locked knees, stressing your joints.

Breathing

Inhale as you reach overhead, and exhale forcefully as you slam the ropes down.

Make it harder or easier

To scale down, raise the ropes only to chest height.
To scale up, add a jump as you drive the ropes overhead.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
