Balance Board Squat

Balance Board Squat

Quads, Glutes, Calves, CoreBalance Board

Balance board squats combine traditional leg work with stability training. They strengthen your quads, glutes, calves, and deep core stabilizers.

How to do it

1Step onto the balance board with your feet shoulder-width apart and level the board.
2Keep your torso upright and look straight ahead.
3Sit back into a controlled squat by hinging at your hips and bending your knees.
4Squat until your thighs are parallel to the board or as low as you can comfortably control your balance.
5Drive through your feet to return to the standing starting position.

Common mistakes

Letting your knees cave inward, destroying your stability and joint alignment.
Shifting weight too far forward or backward, causing the board edges to hit the floor.
Rounding your back and dropping your head as you squat.

Breathing

Inhale as you squat down; exhale as you press back up.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, hold onto a PVC pipe or steady support for balance. To make it harder, hold a 2–3 second pause at the bottom of each rep.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
