Icky Shuffle
Quads, Calves, Core, AdductorsAgility Ladder
High-speed agility ladder drill using quick lateral steps. Great for building footwork speed, balance, rhythm, and lower-body reactivity.
How to do it
1Stand at the side of the ladder with knees soft and your torso light and ready.
2Step your inside foot laterally into the first square.
3Bring your outside foot into the same square.
4Step your lead foot out to the opposite side of the ladder while advancing forward.
5Repeat this three-step rhythm smoothly down the entire ladder.
Common mistakes
Stepping on the rungs, ruining your rhythm and risking a trip.
Locking out your knees, killing absorption and balance.
Lifting your feet too high, slowing down your foot speed.
Breathing
Keep your breath steady and rhythmic, matched to your footwork.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, slow the pace and master the rhythm; to scale up, crank up the foot speed while staying clean.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
