Agility Ladder Drills

Quads, Calves, CoreAgility Ladder

Agility ladder drill designed to improve foot speed, rhythm, and body control, working your quads, calves, and core.

How to do it

1Stand at the start of the ladder, knees slightly bent, core tight.
2Quickly step into the ladder squares using your target footwork pattern.
3Land softly on the balls of your feet, keeping your heels light.
4Pump your elbows to keep your arms moving in rhythm with your legs.
5Finish the entire length while keeping high speed and full control.

Common mistakes

Stepping on the rungs, ruining your rhythm and showing loss of foot placement control.
Locking out your knees, increasing joint shock and slowing you down.
Leaning too far forward, shifting your center of gravity and hurting balance.

Breathing

Breathe smoothly and rhythmically without holding your breath during fast movement.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, slow down and step through with precision.
To make it harder, increase foot speed or add a resistance band around your thighs.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
