Standing Ab Wheel Rollout
Abs, Obliques, Lats, Shoulders, CoreAb Roller
Advanced, high-difficulty ab rollout variation from standing. Extensively targets deep core, back, and shoulders, requiring high balance and full-body strength.
How to do it
1Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hinge down to set the wheel on the floor.
2Grip the handles, brace your core, and keep a slight hollow arch in your upper back.
3Roll the wheel forward smoothly, fully extending your body into a straight line with arms overhead.
4Reach full extension floating just above the floor with maximum core tension.
5Drive hard through your core to pull the wheel back toward your feet and return to standing.
Common mistakes
Arching the lower back on the rollout, putting severe stress on the lumbar spine.
Letting hips or chest touch the floor, losing active muscle tension.
Losing balance due to a narrow stance or rushing off the start.
Breathing
Take a deep inhale as you roll forward; exhale forcefully as you drive back up.
Make it harder or easier
Perform on an incline or against a wall stop to reduce difficulty. Hold full extension for a pause to make it harder.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
